Line a meter stick with pennies and drop one end with the other hinged. Happens to fast to see well. Use with the video.

A meter stick spans a nearly meter-wide gap between two wheeled carts. The right end of the meter stick is tucked under a large plastic container filled with pennies. The left end rests on a narrow slip of wood just beyond the edge of the left cart. The meter stick is covered in a row of pennies. A hand is ready to pull away the slip of wood at the left, leaving the left end of the meter stick dangling in mid-air (very briefly, if gravity has anything to say about it).
