2A10.35 Cohesion Plates

Two heavy glass plates stick together when a film of water is between them. If you press the plates together hard they won’t slide.

A glass plate is propped above the surface of a table by a pair of two-by-four blocks set at its edges. Below the plate, another, narrower glass plate rests on the table. A beaker of water rests on a table nearby.
