2A10.30 Adhesion Balance

A glass plate on one end of a balance beam is in contact with a water surface. Note: Use three 3.5 cm x 3.5 cm glass plates in order to balance the plates properly.

A set of three glass plates hangs off the left end of a balance beam. Small adjustable masses can slide along the arm of the balance beam. The glass plates dangle just above a cylindrical bowl of water resting on a lab jack.
