2A10.33 Surface Tension Disk

A flat glass disc on a soft spring is lowered onto the surface of distilled water and the extension upon pulling the disc off the water is noted.

A long, relatively delicate spring hangs just above a cylindrical dish of water. A bright orange arrow is fastened at the top of the spring, and indicates a position on a nearby vertically-mounted ruler.
