1M30.10 Air Track

Compare the bounce of an air glider on an inclined air track with a mass that is attached tightly or loosely. Raise the track about half an inch (1cm) for optimal results.

A cart equipped with a "bouncy" spring end is ready to glide toward an endstop on the right end of a smooth track. A thin wooden shim (~1 cm) slightly raises the left end of the track. The cart contains a mass that appears to fit snugly. A hand is ready to push the cart toward the endstop.
