Pulley system with scale.

An elaborate pulley system hangs from a sturdy floor stand. Hanging from a hook on the stand is a vertically hanging three-pulley set, hung so that the smallest of the three pulleys is on the bottom. Below that is a two-pulley set, hung with the smallest pulley at the top. A rope passes from a hanging spring scale which is hanging nearly vertically and upside-down. The rope runs up and over the largest pulley on the three-pulley set, down to the largest pulley on the two-pulley set, up and over the second pulley in the three-pulley set, back down to the smallest pulley of the two-pulley set, back up and over the smallest pulley on the three-pulley set, and is finally tied to the top pulley of the two-pulley set. A hanging mass is slung from the bottom of the bottommost pulley. The spring scale reads around 10 N.
