Tubes of various shapes are connected to a common water reservoir.

Four vertical glass tubes are connected at their bottom ends by a shared base composed of a horizontal glass tube. From left to right, the four tubes are: a simple wide cylinder, a thin zig-zagging tube, a tube consisting of two spherical bulbs connected by short lengths of glass, and a simple thin cylinder. A beaker of colored water sits near the apparatus.
