2B40.29 Ship Buoyancy
Set the weight on top of the pan floating in a tub of water and note the water level. Now remove the weight from the pan and place it directly in the tub. The water line is lower because the weight, now sitting at the bottom the tank, is only displacing its volume of water and not its mass.
