1R10.15 Suspended Slinkly

The spacing between turns of a Slinky suspended vertically under its own weight can be used to test Hooke’s law.

A Slinky dangles by one end from a table stand. The bottom of the Slinky hangs freely in mid-air. The spacing between individual Slinky coils increases substantially from the bottom to the top of the Slinky.
