1N30.60 Double Ball Drop

Drop the tennis ball on top of the basketball in sequence so that momentum from the rising basketball is transferred to the falling tennis ball. If done correctly, this will launch the tennis ball high in the air. The other apparatus produces a similar effect, with the small red ball absorbing momentum from the large one via the middle two.

A set of four small bouncing balls are strung through their centers on a thin, short rod. The balls are stacked in order of decreasing size. If the assembly was held upright and dropped, only the bottom of the largest ball would strike the ground. A basketball and a tennis ball also appear in the image.

Location: B3-4 (stacked balls), B2-5 (basketball and tennis ball)
