Hitting two hammers together gates a fast oscillator to a counter.

Two hammers are wired to a power supply (AA batteries) and a small light bulb, with an oscilloscope in the mix. A close-up of the oscilloscope, showing the very fast response of the system when the two hammers are struck together.
