This is an easy and familiar demonstration that effectively displays how momentum and energy are conserved during elastic collisions. One can set anywhere from 1 to 4 balls in motion to display varying momentums and energies.

 

This classic classroom-scale Newton's cradle includes five large steel balls strung as bifilar pendulums on wires attached to a sturdy metal frame.
