Weights are hung from a meter stick suspended on a knife edge.

A meter stick hangs horizontally from a knife-edge clamp. Two additional knife-edge clamps are set on the meter stick, one on either side of the central clamp. A hooked mass hangs from each clip. The distances and masses are set such that the meter stick remains horizontal. A set of additional masses waits nearby.

Place different size masses along meter stick and observe equilibrium.
