1G20.30 Leaky Bucket

A large coke bottle with two holes will not leak water when it is dropped.

A tall man (Vacek) holds a 2-liter soda bottle filled with water. The bottle's label was removed to make the water more visible. Two holes at the bottom of the bottle allow the water to flow in nicely curving arcs from either side of the bottle. The valiant demonstrator holds the leaking bottle over a large, oval tin bucket, ready to drop the bottle into the bucket. Bright overhead lights and a black backdrop make the demo very easy to see, though more challenging to set up in a standard classroom.
