1D60.40 Range of a gun

Shoot the spring-launcher gun at 45, 60 and 30 degree angles from the horizontal. Calculate the landing point and place a target there before shooting. Be sure to place the target at the same vertical height as the launcher; if the target is too low or too high, results will be off.

A spring-loaded tennis ball launcher is fixed at an angle and fastened to a cart with a table clamp. The tennis ball launcher tube is transparent, allowing the students to see the large spring that propels the tennis ball. A protractor with a sliding metal indicator shows the angle of the launcher; in this case, 45 degrees. A tennis ball rests on the table beside the launcher.
