1D50.57 Ball in a Hoop

A ball on a hoop that is on a stationary drill. The ball moves up from the bottom of the hoop to a position that depends on the angular velocity.

A white wooden hoop with the top section cut off is clamped into a motor by a vertical rod. The hoop is oriented like an old-fashioned lollipop or the letter 'U'. Inside the hoop is a small green ball. When the motor engages, the hoop spins, pressing the ball against the inner track of the hoop and causing it to rise.
