5B10.40 Electric Field
An acrylic container viewed from above with a video camera contains particles of flocking in castor oil that align with the electric field. Many electrodes available, point, plate, rings and more.
Use LED tracing pad as light source and Dow Corning 200 Electronic Fluid, viscosity 350cs rather that Castor oil. Works faster and isn’t sticky 🙂 Use voltage set midpoint, about 5KVdc.
Can also be shown by placing the container on an overhead projector.
