A thin metal hoop is strung with two hooks. Each hook is then fastened to one of two gliders sliding on an air track, so that the hoop is held in mid-air between the gliders. The gliders are held with the hoop slightly stretched and then released. A bright orange arrow points upward, marking the center of motion of the system.
