1G10.11 Constant Mass Acceleration System

A glider on the air track is accelerated by a mass on a string over a pulley. Keep the mass of the system constant by transferring mass from the glider to the hook.

A glider slides smoothly on an air track. A pulley hangs off one end of the air track. A bright magenta string runs from the end of the glider, along the track, over the pulley, and down to a small hanging mass. A few additional hooked masses stand on the table. The demo would be better for a rubber end stop to soften the impact of the glider hitting the end of the track.
