3B50.55 Interference Model (Stick Version)

3B50.55 Interference Model

Painted wave trains on wood lath are attached to magnets for use on a steel blackboard in order to demonstrate double-slit interference. The magnets attached to the red wave trains are placed on the two “slits”. For ideal representation of constructive interference, place the third supporting magnet in the middle of “sheet”.

The blue wave trains represent a shorter wavelength of light and therefore demonstrate a different interference pattern.
