1H10.11 Reaction Cart

All the things you can do standing and running on carts with and without ropes.

A person starting on the floor may jump on the cart. The cart moves, of course, in the direction of his original motion.

A person standing on a cart at rest may start to run along it. The cart moves in the opposite direction.

A person walking at constant speed may, walk along a cart without moving it. Since there is no transfer of momentum his speed is constant.
