Plug the apparatus directly into a wall jack or heavy duty extension cord (without a power strip) and turn it on to demonstrate electrical discharge through a gas. The system uses a step up transformer and carries a potentially lethal voltage, so please be mindful of this. Only allow the system to run for 3-4 arc cycles to avoid tripping the building’s circuit breaker.
